Hospital is equipped with state of art facilities for cataract surgery. We use Carl Zeiss microscope acknowledged as best in terms of optics and Oertli Phacoemulsification system. The patients are initially evaluated in detail which includes visual acuity assesment , intraocular pressure measurement, puppilary dialation, slit lamp examination and retinal evaluation. After the ocular examination if the patient requires surgery they undergo systemic evaluation to rule out systemic diseases as diabetis and hypertension. Then they are counseled for the type of surgery and IOL to be implanted. We keep in mind socioeconomic status of the patients and try to give the best package suitable for them. The surgery is scheduled as per the patients and doctors convenience. We perform the most advanced technique of Phacoemulsification with 2.2mm incision under topical anaesthesia ( eyes numbed using drops). The major advantage of this technique is, it is absolutely painless, no need of stiches, no pad, visual recovery is very fast and patient can get back to work in a couple of days. The procedure takes about 10 to 15 minutes and patient can leave the hospital in two hours. We also give the options of different types of IOL’S namely monofocal, multifocal, and toric lenses.
